My name is Eira Tansey. In case you’re wondering how to say my name (and yup, it’s the one I was born with), it rhymes with ‘Sara’. I was born in Toledo and grew up in Cincinnati. I’m the Digital Archivist/Records Manager at the University of Cincinnati, and I previously worked at Tulane University Library’s Louisiana Research Collection. I received my MLIS from San José State University’s School of Library and Information Science.

My primary and active research area is the intersection of archives, the environment, and climate change. I have side/past/backburnered research interests in cultural heritage labor equity, access to public records, records management in higher education, and the right to be forgotten.

I make as much of my work publicly available as I can manage, and I would be delighted to hear from you about writing for your publication or speaking to your organization.
